It’s hard picking the right “first item” on a bucket list. Not because I want to cross it off first, but I want to make sure it sets the tone for the rest of the list.
“Well what tone are you going for, Hitch?”
You know… I’m really just looking for those things you just don’t see anymore. I’m the biggest fan of kicking things old school when it comes to interacting with my lady, and this is one of those things you just don’t see young jedi’s jumping on. I want to take it back to the days when you would record “mix-tapes” via hitting record on the stereo when your favorite song came on the radio. Times when the simple things meant the most. We’ve gotten so far away from the sentimental in a relationship, that if it isn’t the newest or the hottest, then it doesn’t get much attention.
What better way to reconnect with your lady, than to eliminate all distractions and vibe to your favorite
tune, the song you guys got married to, that “our” song you’ll never forget, the song that usually came before Mystikal but after Boys II Men on the mixtape. And there won’t be much need for many words, taking the first step and inviting her to the dance floor will be enough. Getting back to that Bill and Claire Huxtable love, something that seems so far fetched in today’s society.
And that’s why before I head to that heavenly dog house in the sky, I’d like to cross “Spontaneous Slow Dance” off my Love Bucket List.
